ABOUT ME

Misha Cvijović is Serbian composer and pianist based in Berlin. She developed her musical career in the fields of contemporary instrumental music, vocal music, electroacoustic music, theatre and film music, opera and music theater.

Her compositions have been performed at numerous festivals, including: Symposium Neues Musiktheater Deutsche Oper Berlin, MaerzMusik, Klangwerkstatt für Neue Musik, 11th IMPULSE Graz (Call for Scores), Fresh Works for Fresh Minds Basel, Forum Neue Musik Berlin, Zoom Fokus Berlin, 29. Belgrade Jazz Festival, Performing Arts Festival Berlin, 40. Saarbrücker Max-Ophüls-Preis, Achtung Berlin, Cannes Film Festival, etc.
Her compositions have been performed by many ensembles and orchestras for contemporary music, including: Ensemble RADAR, Ensemble Zone experimental Basel, Orchestra Radio Television Serbia, SYNK Ensemble, etc.

During her opera/theater career she worked as composer, arranger, pianist and musical director. She worked with directors like Alienor Dauchez (Donaueschinger Musiktage), Johannes Müller (Sophiaesaele Berlin, Theater Rampe Stuttgart, Theater Brut Vienna), Ulrike Schwab (Neuköllner Oper), Fabian Gerhardt (Theater am Kürfüstendamm), Iva Milosević (Theater Atelje 212), Milos Lolić  (Yugoslav Drama Theater), Jovana Tomić (Yugoslav Drama Theater), Kokan Mladenovic (Theater Atelje 212), Nebojsa Bradić (Opera &Theatre Madlenianum), etc.

Misha graduated from the piano department (bachelor and master degree) at the Art Academy in Novi Sad in the class of Vladimir Ogarkov, as well as from the composition department (bachelor and master degree) at the Faculty of Music Arts in the class of Vlastimir Trajković. She graduated from the composition department at the renowned HfM Hanns Eisler Berlin in the class of Eun-Hwa Cho. She participated many international composition festivals and seminars with Mark Andre, Hannspeter Kyburz, Wolfgang Heiniger, Pierluigi Billone, Stefano Gervasoni, William Blake, Brian Ferneyhough, Johannes Schöllhorn, Isabel Mundry, Clara Iannotta, Sarah Maria Sun, Heiner Goebbels, She She Pop, Forced Entertainment, etc.
